Starkey Digital Hearing Aids

  • S Series IQ
  • The S Series IQ family of hearing aids utilises Starkey's unique Drive Architecture technology. There are four technology levels: S Series IQ 11, S Series IQ 9, S Series IQ 7 and S Series IQ 5.

Each technology level is available in every conceivable style, be it custom, RIC (receiver in Canal) or BTE (behind the ear). Effectively the S Series IQ range supersedes previous S series, Zon and Destiny Ranges.

So, what do you get for your money? What has improved?

Firstly, the biggest breakthrough is Starkey's new noise reduction and speech preservation system, Voice IQ. Voice IQ uses processors so fast, they literally reduce noise between sylables of speech resulting in unprecedented sound quality even in the most challenging situations.

Starkey's already superb feedback management system has also just got even better, which means those who need lots of power or an open fit are far less prone to those embarrassing whistling tones.

Due to the new multi-core technology within, you also get improved battery life, tripple the processing power of prevous hearing aids and unprecedented clarity in noise.

Each of the S Series IQ models is available in a full range of ITE, BTE and RIC styles. The good news for those wanting the most small and discreet looking hearing aids is that each style is available in a power version, so even if your hearing loss is severe bordering on profound, discretion is still possible.

    S Series IQ 7

The S Series 7 is designed for social lifestyles, has 8 channels and bands and provides good performance in environments with minimal or moderate background noise. It utilises a Select Acoustic Scene Analyzer which helps achieve this goal.

  • SoundLens (OtoLens)
  • The first ever IIC (Invisible in the Canal) hearing aid, the OtoLens is a new concept aiming to emulate the success of the contact lens in the optical market.

Sitting deep in the canal, just milimetres from the ear drum it is invisible to onlookers.

Technology wise, the OtoLens boasts the same groundbreaking features as the new S Series IQ range of hearing aids and is available in three levels of technology coresponding to those of the IQ 11, IQ 9 and IQ 7.

It includes the astonishing new Voice IQ and the new T2 remote control which lets you adjust your hearing aids volume using a mobile phone.

The OtoLens is not suitable for all ear sizes. It requires a very intricate and deep aural impression and only an assessment from a hearing aid audioligist will confirm whether or not your canal size is suitable.

  • Wi Series IQ
  • The Wi is Starkey's first entry into the world of wireless technology.

Available in three technology levels, Wi i 110, Wi i 90 and Wi i 70 which in turn equate to the technology found in the S Series IQ 11, 9 and 7, the range is innitially available exclusively in the receiver in the ear style.

The wireless aspect of this new range at present includes a remote control and a device called the SurfLink Media which enables the hearing aids to wirelessly stream audio, be it television or music. The user simply has to connect the SurfLink to their required audeo output (e.g the tv) and it's up and running.

There are no bodyworn devices required when using this technology as unlike many of the other products on the market, Starkey have built the everything into the hearing aid. In fact it is one of the most user freindly devices you could wish for.

Plans are also afoot for this technology to be made available in other custom in the ear formats in the near future.
