Resound Digital Hearing Aids

  • Live 9, Live 7 and Live 5
  • Live by Resound is a new range of products utilising the latest state of the art technology from Denmark.

There are three levels of technology the Live 5 being the more basic, the Live 7, the mid range and the Live 9 the premium model.

All three models include Surround sound technology: a new type of processing giving more vibrancy to speech, particularly in noisy environments.

They also have Dual Stabiliser II DFS with Whistle Control, Noise Tracker II Noise Reduction which means less distortion, less feedback and better understanding of speech in noise.

The Live 7 and 9 also have 17 band Warp compression as opposed to the Live 5 which uses 9 Band Warp Compression. They also have Multiscope Adaptive Directionality.

The top of the range Live 9, also has Autoscope Adaptive Directionality, Natural Directionality II and Environmental Optimiser, which automatically adjusts your hearing aid in all environments, ensuring maximum comfort with minimum effort.

The Live range of hearing aids is available in a variety of different styles including custom made and open fitting receiver in the canal models, ensuring there's one suitable for most types of hearing loss.

The receiver in the canal models are small in size, but large enough to take a larger battery than the Dot 2 range, which makes them more manageable for those with visual problems or arthritis of the fingers.

  • Alera
  • RESOUND ALERA 60 AND 61 Series

The Alera is the new RIC (Receiver in the Canal) portfolio by GN Resound.
It consists of two product ranges, the Alera 61 range, which is the larger of the two (and encompasses wireless technology) and the Alera 60, which is smaller in size due to having no wireless benefits and a smaller (size 10) battery.

Both Alera product ranges are available in three technology levels; Alera 9 being the most advanced, Alera 7 the mid range, and Alera 5 the more basic.

Features include Warp sound processing and surround sound processor: a new type of processing giving more vibrancy to speech, particularly in noisy environments.

They also have Dual Stabiliser II DFS with Whistle Control, Noise Tracker II Noise Reduction, which means less distortion, less feedback and better understanding of speech in noise as well as the new and faster Resound Range chip.

The Alera 7 and 9 models also have 17 band Warp compression as opposed to the 5 which uses 9 Band Warp Compression. They also have Multiscope Adaptive Directionality.

The top of the range Alera 9, also has Autoscope Adaptive Directionality, Natural Directionality II and Environmental Optimiser, which automatically adjusts your hearing aid in all environments, ensuring maximum comfort with minimum effort.

The Alera 61 is the first ever range of hearing aids by Resound to embrace wireless technology. Unlike many of the other wireless options on the market it does not use Bluetooth, but instead utilises 2.4 GHz wireless technology.

Resound claim that in doing this, they have produced a system that avoids “Lip Sync” (where the sound is out of time with the speech on the television).

In effect this means that a range of new wireless products called Unite are available that offer solutions for television and mobile phone problems. Unlike many other wireless solutions where the user has to wear a device around their neck, the wireless technology on the Alera is built into the hearing aids.

There are currently three optional products in the Unite range. There is a remote control (for changing programs and adjusting volume), a television box and a phone clip (for mobile phone use). Each is easy to use, even for the technophobes among us who shudder at the thought of reading another instruction book.

The Alera 60 supersedes the Dot 2 as Resound’s open fit solution for people seeking the smallest possible hearing aid crammed with the very latest cutting edge technology.

Identical in shape, but smaller in size to the 61 series, the three models in the 60 range have the same technology as their larger counterparts other than the wireless technology features.
