Oticon Digital Hearing Aids
- Intiga
The Intiga is Oticon’s new family of RIC (receiver in the canal) hearing aids and is available in three technology levels, Intiga 10, 8 and 6.
Whilst the other mini receiver in the canal models in the Oticon portfolio (Agil Pro, Acto Pro and Ino Pro) have not been replaced by the Intiga, you could say they now have a prettier younger sister.
The fitting range in the Intiga does not go up to the same profound levels of amplification found in the Agil, Acto and Ino, so it is more aimed at those with mild to moderate losses who desire the sleekest, most cosmetically appealing hearing aid on the market.
It encompasses Oticon’s Rise 2 platform and replaces the Dual family of hearing aids.

- Agil and Agil Pro

- The Agil Pro is Oticon’s new flagship model. It utilises their new Rise II platform, effectively doubling the processing power and intelligence of its predecessor, the highly acclaimed and award winning Epoq.
The Agil Pro aims to take the effort and strain out of hearing and restore user ability to localise sound and make sense of it. To achieve this the Agil Pro employs several key technologies namely Spatial Sound 2.0 and Speech Guard.
Spatial Sound 2.0 is a new Spatial Noise Management system designed to emulate human ability to choose where to listen, even in the most challenging surroundings.
Speech Guard, on the other hand is a system aimed at enhancing audible cues that help differentiate different voice tones and make speech more recognisable.
The third main innovation in this new range of hearing aids is Connect (+), which uses two new technologies to further enhance user pleasure when using the Streamer.
There are two new setting options when in the streamer mode. There is a bass booster designed to improve music quality in RIC aids, which normally receive little or no low frequency boost. The other choice is music widening which gives a richer sound to music and is less bass orientated.
It is available in a wide range of different styles that include ITE, BTE and Mini RIC (Receiver in the Canal) models catering for even the more severe type of hearing loss.
All in all, one of the main points when considering the Agil or Agil Pro as your choice of hearing aid is that it replaces the Epoq, which only last winter was voted the best premium product by the Association of Independent Hearing Health Practitioners.
This new technology platform in the Agil / Agil Pro is far advanced from the Epoq so as far as Oticon go, their best has just got better.

- Acto and Acto Pro

- The Acto And Acto Pro are the new generation of mid priced hearing aids from Oticon.
Replacing the Vigo range, but utilsing Oticon's new Rise 2 platform, both are crammed full of sophisticated features ensuring top value for money.
Features include DecisionMaker 2 (which incorporates Multi Band Adaptive Directionality, TriStateNoise Management, and Automatic Adaptation Manager). This program constantly evaluates the surrounding ambient noise and automatically adjusts the instruments for you to achieve the optimum sound level whatever the environment.
The Acto and Acto Pro range is available in custom fit, BTE, RITE and mini RITE (which has 3 different choices of power, which means even those with the most severe hearing losses no longer have to compromise on the cosmetics for power.
The Acto and Acto Pro range of hearing aids (when used with the optional streamer) is also fully blutooth compatable, which means users have the option of utilising a wide range of products designed to make life much easier for the hearing impaired.
These options include a bluetooth landline telephone converter, a television solution and the ability to receive your mobile phone calls or music from your MP3 player straight into your hearing aids.

- Ino and Ino Pro
- The Ino and Ino Pro are the new entry level hearing aids from Oticon.
Both models encompass the new Rise platform first seen in the Agil Pro and more recently in the mid range, Acto Pro.
As with the Agil and Acto Pro the Ino Pro utilises Oticons wireless technlogy which means even at entry level you can now access the range of optional bluetooth enabled products.
These products include Oticon's bluetooth landline converter and a television converter which when used together with the Oticon Streamer enable the user to hear audio or telephone straight into their hearing aids.
The Ino is slightly more basic than the Ino pro and does not have the optional wireless accessories.
Both models are available in all styles including the new mini Rite which supersedes the entry level Dual.
- Chile
- The Oticon Chile is a new aid designed for the user who has moderately severe to profound hearing loss.
Utilising Oticon’s new Rise 2 Platform (with a processing speed twice as fast as its predecessor), the Chile is smaller in size than many traditional power aids, using a size 13 battery.
It also has many technological features often not found in the power aid sector. These include Spatial Noise Management, SpeechGuard, Binaural Processing, Binaural Synchronisation and Binaural Push Button Synchronisation.
It also has full Bluetooth connectivity as well as a Telecoil.
In short, it’s a very refined hearing aid for a sector of the market that is often bereft of such innovative technology in favour of power.

- Sumo
- The Sumo is specifically designed for those with a profound hearing loss seeking digital amplification. It reaches the volumes other behind the ear aids can’t, catering for hearing losses as high as 120 dB.

- EPOQ (Now Replaced by the Agil and Agil Pro Range)
- The Epoq is different from traditional digital hearing aids in several ways. Firstly it utilises wireless technology enabling the two hearing aids to work as one, therefore providing the user with a listening experience nearer to how nature intended. The wireless technology also fully equips the Epoq for using modern bluetooth devices such as mobile phones. It does this by using a separate device called the Epoq streamer.
Other advanced features on the Epoq include a TriState noise management system.
The Epoq is available in 3 technology levels and in the following different styles, custom fit, BTE (behind the ear), RITE (receiver in the ear) and Power RITE which means even those with the most severe hearing losses no longer have to compromise on the cosmetic appearance of their hearing aid.
- Vigo Pro (now Replaced by Acto Pro)
- The Vigo and Vigo Pro were both replaced during 2010 by the above products which utilise the faster and more efficient Rise Platform.
They are however still available.
- Dual (now replaced by Agil, Acto and Ino RITE's)
- The Dual is still available but technologically is inferior to the Agil Pro which encompasses Oticon's newer, faster Rise platform.
